Gigatonne is our flagship strategy. It is an effective, fair, and rapid response to tackling the global climate crisis. We believe that we can shift the trajectory of the climate crisis in 60 months. We focus on three problems. Youth unemployment, climate breakdown, and the leadership gap in tackling the climate crisis. Projections show that youth unemployment could increase to half a billion young people globally in the next decade, much of it in the Global South. This vast talent pool remains unrealised.  Our strategy is to put young people to work tackling the climate crisis by turning organic waste into agricultural outputs while moving them from being unskilled labour to a highly skilled labour pool. In doing so we aim to become the market front-runner in tackling climate breakdown on the ground.

The Head of Storytelling will lead the narrative and marketing function for Gigatonne. This is not a traditional comms role - it’s about shaping how the world understands and connects with what we’re building. You will be responsible for telling the story of Ten in Ten and Gigatonne: as a vision, as a bold new climate strategy and more than anything else as a a a grassroots movement consisting of real people solving real problems.   Our core storytelling challenge is that we have to appeal to very diverse audiences, from grassroots communities on the ground to corporate leaders, donors and investors. You will be expected to manage multiple storytelling streams aimed at emotionally and intellectually engaging our stakeholders. You’ll work across all three internal functions - Strategy, Operations, and Ground - to source, shape, and share stories that are honest, compelling, and rooted in the reality of the work. From investor decks and brand strategy to frontline photo essays and in-country launches, this role carries narrative responsibility. You will oversee creative production teams, editorial contributors, and media partners to bring Gigatonne’s story to life across platforms. This is a role for someone who understands the pace and rhythm of digital storytelling: rapid, real, and resonant.

- 8+ years in senior storytelling, marketing, or strategic communications roles, ideally across both purpose-driven and high-performance environments - Proven experience leading brand or narrative development for projects operating across multiple countries or sectors - Demonstrated ability to craft, maintain, and scale coherent narratives across a wide range of audiences and mediums (e.g., donors, policymakers, frontline teams) - Experience working with decentralized or field-based teams to surface and shape grounded stories - Strong editorial judgment - from campaign messaging to frontline profiles to investor-facing narratives - Demonstrated ability to lead creative production teams (writers, designers, filmmakers, photographers) - Evidence of a strong digital storytelling portfolio, including visual and video storytelling - Ability to identify, shape, and translate complex stories into accessible and emotionally resonant content - Comfortable producing and publishing on rapid cycles - we value momentum and resonance over polish and perfection

Ten in Ten and Gigatonne is structured into three broad internal teams: Strategy, Operations, and Ground.  This role - Head of Storytelling - sits in the Strategy team, with a mandate to work across all three.  You will report to the CEO.  You’ll liaise with the Ground team to capture the lived experience of GT Teams and work with Operations to ensure narrative integrity and compliance. Gigatonne uses a three-band internal structure to organize roles based on scope, accountability, and responsibility: - Band A: Director level - manages teams, holds accountabilities, and carries fiduciary responsibility - Band B: Manages teams and holds key accountabilities, without fiduciary oversight - Band C: Task-focused roles without team or fiduciary responsibilitiesEach band includes two levels: Level 1 (experienced) and Level 2 (inexperienced), allowing space for both senior professionals and those on a development path. This role is based in Sharjah. You will be expected to relocate if not already based there.  Compensation ranges from $75,000–$120,000 USD, depending on experience and final band placement.  This role comes with a performance-based bonus at least 15% of base salary and tied to the company as a whole meeting its annual targets.  The total package also includes: - relocation stipend (fixed cost) - full healthcare insurance  - participation in company share option scheme
